Wix · Spin the Wheel

A spin wheel for Wix, installed by an app, no Velo required

Wix's built-in lightbox can show a discount; it cannot make a visitor win one. ChilliPopup adds a spin-to-win wheel to a Wix site through its Wix app: you paste your Workspace ID once, Wix injects the pixel into the head of every page, and the wheel you publish in ChilliPopup opens over your pages on the trigger you choose, each slice carrying a coupon you created in Wix and the winner decided on our server. This page is the setup for a Wix site: the install, where the wheel shows on Wix Stores, a prize table built on Wix coupons, the copy, the rules and the report.

  • No Velo, no Custom Code, no editor tricks
  • Free plan, no credit card required
  • Winner decided on the server

Why a wheel on a Wix site

The lightbox asks. The wheel gives them a reason.

A Wix site usually asks for an email with a lightbox that opens on page load, for everyone, with nothing on the other side of the form. A wheel turns the same ask into a game: pick the moment, name the prizes, set the odds, and hand a Wix coupon only to visitors who spun and won.

One app, one ID, every page

Add the ChilliPopup app to your site, paste your Workspace ID on its settings page and click Activate ChilliPopup. Wix injects the pixel into the head of every page; the wheel and everything else you publish afterwards arrives through that one tag, with nothing to add in the Wix editor.

Wix coupons on the slices

Each prize carries a coupon you created under Marketing → Coupons in your Wix dashboard, with its own dates and usage limits. ChilliPopup never creates or applies a coupon; it reveals the code you pasted, only inside a winning result, and Wix validates it at checkout.

Triggers and odds the lightbox does not have

Exit intent, scroll depth, inactivity and page-view count decide when the wheel opens; a win chance per prize decides how often each slice comes up. The roll happens on our server and codes are stripped from what reaches the browser, so nobody reads a coupon out of the page source. If the server cannot be reached, the spin resolves as a loss.

Install on Wix

Three steps from Add to Site to a spinning page

The ChilliPopup Wix app works on any Wix plan and needs one value from you: your Workspace ID. Custom Code is not required, and the whole thing runs on your published site rather than in the editor.

1

Add the app to your Wix site

Open the ChilliPopup install link; it is on your dashboard's Installation Code screen under Wix, and in the install guide. Click Add to Site, choose the Wix site you want the wheel on and approve the permissions. Wix installs the app and opens its settings page.

2

Paste your Workspace ID and activate

In the ChilliPopup dashboard open Installation Code, choose Wix and copy your Workspace ID. In your Wix dashboard go to Apps → Manage Apps → ChilliPopup, paste it into the field and click Activate ChilliPopup. The app shows a green Active badge, and Wix injects the pixel into the <head> of every page.

3

Build the wheel and publish

Pick a wheel theme, type the prize table below into the Prizes panel, write the four screens, set the display rules and set the wheel to Published; drafts never serve. Then open your published Wix site, not the editor preview, in a private window with ad blockers off, and trigger the rule.

Everything else the app does for a Wix site is on the Wix platform page →
If your plan includes Custom Code you can paste the snippet there instead, loading on all pages in the head. Use the app or Custom Code, never both, or the pixel loads twice.

  • Wix Stores product pages: by default Wix Stores product pages live under /product-page/, so one page-URL rule, contains /product-page/, puts the wheel on every product and nowhere else. The cart, checkout and thank-you pages match no rule and stay quiet. If you changed the URL slugs in your SEO settings, use yours.
  • Any-match rules: a wheel shows on any page that matches at least one of its page rules. A single does-not-contain rule, on its own, shows it everywhere except the pages you name; do not mix one with a contains rule, or the does-not-contain rule opens the wheel almost everywhere.
  • Wix Blog: on a blog, contains /post/ puts the wheel on every post. Trade the coupons for a download or a course discount and the mechanics stay the same.
  • Published site, consenting visitors: the pixel runs on your live site, not the editor preview. If your site shows Wix's cookie banner, Wix holds the script until the visitor consents, so the wheel's view counts reflect consenting visitors only.
The prize table

A Wix Stores prize table you can copy

Five coupons and a leftover, for a first-order wheel on a Wix Stores shop. Create each coupon in Wix first, then type the labels, codes and chances into the Prizes panel exactly like this.

SliceReward codeWin chanceWhy it is there
10% offFIRST1040%A percent-off coupon: the welcome offer most shops make anyway. Most spins land here, and it costs nothing extra.
Free shippingFIRSTSHIP20%Created in Wix as a free shipping coupon. A fixed cost to you, and the prize small baskets like most.
$10 offSAVE1015%A fixed-amount coupon. Reads bigger than 10% on a modest basket; give it a total number of uses in Wix so a run of luck cannot drain it.
20% offFIRST2010%The tier shoppers mention to friends. Rare enough to protect margin, and limited in Wix to one use per customer.
30% offFIRST303%The headline slice. Three spins in a hundred, with a total-uses cap and a one-per-customer limit set in Wix.
Try againnone12% (leftover)Added by the editor as a grey slice because the prizes total 88%. Twelve shoppers in a hundred see the Losing screen, which is what keeps the other codes worth having.

The arithmetic reads straight off the table: with these odds, every hundred spins hand out roughly forty 10% coupons, twenty free-shipping coupons, fifteen $10 coupons, ten 20% coupons and three 30% coupons, and twelve shoppers see the Losing screen. Change any percentage and the editor shows the new chance of not winning as you type.

The ChilliPopup wheel editor: a Prizes panel with 50% OFF at 50% chance, 25% OFF at 25% and Free shipping at 10%, an equal-chances toggle, a Chance of not winning: 15% readout, and the Play, Post-Play, Winning and Losing tabs above the wheel preview
The Prizes panel where the table goes: a label, a reward code and a win chance per prize, with the chance of not winning computed for you as you type.
  • Create the coupons in Wix first: in your Wix dashboard open Marketing → Coupons and create one coupon per prize, choosing the type (a percentage off, an amount off or free shipping), the dates it is valid and, for the bigger tiers, a one-use-per-customer limit and a total number of uses.
  • ChilliPopup never creates or applies coupons: it does not touch your Wix coupons. It reveals the code you pasted into the Prizes panel, only inside a winning result, and the shopper enters it at checkout, where Wix validates it.
  • Redemptions are counted in Wix: each coupon's uses appear next to it under Marketing → Coupons. Match them to the claims table in ChilliPopup to see what the wheel cost and what it brought in.
  • Prefer no losers? Raise the chances to 100% or switch on "Give all prizes equal chances" and the Try again slice disappears. Or mark a prize as a Losing option so it keeps its own label and colour, counts as a loss and never returns a code.
Copy for the four screens

What each screen says on a Wix shop

A wheel has four screens: Play, Post-Play, Winning and Losing, each its own canvas in the editor. Write {{prize_label}} and {{prize_code}} anywhere in the Post-Play or Winning copy and the won prize fills them in.

Play

Spin for your first-order coupon

Headline: Spin once, win a coupon for your first order.

Sub-line: Up to 30% off, free shipping or $10 off. One spin per visitor.

The disc itself is the button, so a hint like "Click the wheel to start" is all the instruction it needs.

Post-Play

You landed on {{prize_label}}

Headline: {{prize_label}} is yours.

Sub-line: Enter your email and we'll show your coupon code right here.

One email field and one button. The screen only appears after a win, so nobody is asked for an email in exchange for nothing.

Winning

Your coupon is {{prize_code}}

Headline: Enter {{prize_code}} at checkout for {{prize_label}}.

Sub-line: Type it into the promo code field on the checkout page before 31 October 2026.

Confetti is on by default here. Add a "Shop now" button pointing at your shop page so the shopper has somewhere to use it.

Losing

Not this time

Headline: No coupon on this spin.

Sub-line: New arrivals are in, and shipping is free over $60 for everyone.

Point the button at the shop page. The Losing screen is the one part of the wheel a visitor sees with nothing in return, so make it worth the click.

Display rules

Rules for a Wix Stores first-order wheel

A wheel carries the same display rules as every ChilliPopup popup: six triggers, targeting, frequency caps and a schedule. Wix's default URL structure does the page targeting for you.

  • Pages: one rule, contains /product-page/. Every Wix Stores product page matches it; the home page, cart and checkout match nothing, so the wheel never opens over a shopper who is paying.
  • Triggers: exit intent for desktop shoppers, and inactivity after 20 seconds, so a shopper who has stopped scrolling a product page sees the wheel whether or not they have a cursor. The first trigger to fire opens it.
  • Audience: new visitors only. These are first-order coupons; a returning visitor has already had the chance.
  • Frequency: once every 30 days, plus "hide from visitors who already claimed", so each shopper gets one spin and one coupon.
  • Schedule: none for an always-on wheel. If your Wix coupons have a valid-until date, give the wheel the same end date in your time zone so it retires with them.

Your Wix template's colours, your fonts, the coupon up front

There is no Wix-specific wheel template, and you do not need one. Both wheel themes are fully editable, and a wheel that looks like part of your site is a few minutes of recolouring.

  • Start from The Deal Is Right if most of your visitors arrive on phones: it is a portrait, mobile-first card. Spin to Win is the landscape alternative, wheel on the left and headline on the right.
  • Match your template: set the popup background to your site's background colour, the rim, pointer and hub to your accent colour, and alternate the slices between the accent and a neutral so the labels stay legible. Pick the same Google font your Wix template uses, or upload your own font files so the wheel uses the same faces as your site.
  • Put the coupon up front: "Up to 30% off your first order" in the headline is what stops the scroll; the slices tell the truth about the odds.
  • A/B test one thing: one click creates a Variant B, you choose the split, every visitor keeps their version and the results sit side by side with a confidence indicator. Test inactivity against a time delay, or $10 off against free shipping as the second tier.

The same editor for all four games: Play, Post-Play, Winning and Losing are tabs, Prizes is a panel, and every colour, block and font is yours to change.
After the first fortnight

The numbers the lightbox never gave you

A wheel gets two reports: the popup report every ChilliPopup campaign has, and a game report built from the server's own record of each spin. Give the wheel two weeks of traffic before judging it, and change one thing at a time.

  • Opens against submissions: how many visitors saw the wheel on product pages, how many spun and how many left an email, by day and by device. Low opens point at the rules; opens without submissions point at the prizes.
  • Claimed wins by prize: whether the coupons were claimed in the proportions the table predicted, and which tier drove the claims.
  • The claims table: each winner's email, prize, code, device and time. ChilliPopup does not send emails and has no Mailchimp, Klaviyo, HubSpot, Zapier or CSV export connector, so the list does not flow into Wix Contacts on its own; you read and copy it from the dashboard.
  • Redemptions: each coupon's uses in Wix. Matching them to the claims table tells you what the wheel cost in coupons and what it brought in first orders.
The ChilliPopup Popup Analytics dashboard: opens, unique views, clicks, submissions, conversion rate and field inputs over a date range, with an interaction chart
The popup report every wheel gets. The game report adds spins, wins, losses and claimed wins by prize.

Good to know

Spin the wheel on Wix, answered

Do I need Velo or Custom Code to run a wheel on Wix?
No. The ChilliPopup Wix app injects the one-line pixel into the head of every page for you: add the app to your site, paste your Workspace ID on its settings page and click Activate ChilliPopup. If your Wix plan includes Custom Code you can paste the standard snippet there instead, loading on all pages in the head. Use the app or Custom Code, never both, or the pixel loads twice and a spin can be rendered or counted twice.
Can the wheel hand out Wix coupons?
Yes. Create each coupon under Marketing, Coupons in your Wix dashboard, with the dates it is valid and any usage limits, then paste the code as the prize's reward code in the Prizes panel. ChilliPopup never creates or applies a coupon in Wix; it reveals the code you gave it, only inside a winning result, and Wix validates it at checkout. Each coupon's redemptions are counted next to it in Wix.
Can I show the wheel only on Wix Stores product pages?
Yes. Page-URL rules match with contains, does not contain, exact, not equal, starts with and ends with, and a wheel shows on any page that matches at least one of its rules. Wix Stores product pages live under /product-page/ by default, so a single contains /product-page/ rule puts the wheel on every product and keeps it off the home page, cart and checkout, which match nothing. Wix Blog posts live under /post/ if you want it there instead.
Why is the wheel not showing on my Wix site?
Check that the wheel is Published in ChilliPopup (drafts never serve), that the ChilliPopup app shows a green Active badge with the correct Workspace ID saved, that you are looking at your live published site rather than the editor preview, and that the rules can fire for you: a wheel capped at once every 30 days will not open again on your machine until the window resets. Test in a private window with ad blockers off. If your site shows Wix's cookie banner, Wix loads the pixel only after the visitor consents. Full troubleshooting list →
Where do the winners' emails go?
Into your ChilliPopup dashboard. The game report lists every claim with its email, prize, code, device and time, alongside spins, wins, losses and claimed wins by prize. ChilliPopup does not send emails or SMS and has no Mailchimp, Klaviyo, HubSpot, Zapier or CSV export connector, so submissions do not flow into Wix Contacts on their own; you read and copy them from the dashboard.
What does a wheel on Wix cost?
The app is free to add to your Wix site, and the Free plan is $0 a month, forever, with no credit card and no time limit: 1,000 visitors a month, one domain, all four prize games, the full editor, A/B testing and analytics. Pro is $29 a month and Business $79 a month, each with a 14-day free trial. A small "Powered by ChilliPopup" badge shows under the wheel on every plan. See the plans →

Give your Wix site a wheel worth spinning

Add the app, paste your Workspace ID, type your Wix coupons into the prize table and publish. The wheel opens on your product pages, the server decides every spin, and every coupon you give away comes with an email.
