Comparisons

Popup tools, priced honestly

Every comparison here is built the same way: the vendor’s own published price, the traffic allowance you actually get for it, and the tier each feature really unlocks on — named, not glossed over. Checked in August 2026.

Where the five tools land

The one-line version of all five comparisons. Read the traffic row carefully — it is not the same unit for every tool, which is the single most common way these products get compared unfairly.

ChilliPopup $15/mo 1,000 visitors, 1 domain, every content type 14-day trial Smallest traffic allowance at the entry price; no built-in email sending

The comparisons

Each guide covers what the tool is, why people leave it, five alternatives ranked by what you get for the money, full pricing tables, a head-to-head feature comparison and an FAQ.

Poptin

Top 5 Poptin Alternatives, Compared on Price and What You Actually Get

Poptin is cheap and capable, but the free plan is branded, surveys and quizzes are not content types, and the popup and email tracks are billed separately.

Poper

Top 5 Poper Alternatives, and What Their Entry Plans Really Include

$15/mo buys 50,000 visitors — but A/B testing, prize games and quizzes start on the $29 tier and surveys on the $79 one. Five tools that draw those lines differently.

OptinMonster

Top 5 OptinMonster Alternatives, Priced Against the Renewal, Not the Intro

Annual-only billing, campaign-impression caps and exit intent behind the Pro tier. Five tools that price the same job differently.

OptiMonk

Top 5 OptiMonk Alternatives, Compared on Price Per Unit of Traffic

Every plan gets every feature — the question is the pageview ladder: $19 for 20,000, $69 for 100,000, $179 for 500,000.

Popupsmart

Top 5 Popupsmart Alternatives, and Where the A/B Testing Actually Starts

The tidiest builder here, and the most expensive entry point — with split testing two tiers up and pageview overages billed rather than throttled.

How we compare these tools

Three rules, applied to every guide on this page.

Common questions

How are these popup tool comparisons researched?

Every price, traffic allowance and plan gate is read directly off each vendor’s own public pricing and feature pages, and the month it was checked is stated on the page. Where a vendor does not publish something, the comparison says so rather than guessing. Nothing is copied from other comparison articles.

Why do popup tools quote traffic in different units?

Because they meter different things. Poptin, Poper and ChilliPopup count unique monthly visitors. OptiMonk and Popupsmart count pageviews. OptinMonster counts campaign impressions — how many times a campaign was displayed. A site with 5,000 visitors reading five pages each generates 25,000 pageviews, so the same headline number can mean very different amounts of headroom.

Which popup tool has the best free plan?

OptiMonk. Its free tier covers 10,000 pageviews a month on one domain with all 97 of its features unlocked, including gamification, surveys and A/B testing. Poptin’s free plan covers 1,000 unique visitors with unlimited popups, Poper has a Free Forever tier limited to one website, and Popupsmart’s allows a single popup. All of them display the vendor’s badge.

Where does ChilliPopup fit?

It is the tool these guides are published by, and it is ranked first in all of them — so read the tables rather than the ranking. Its actual argument is narrow and checkable: every plan includes every content type (popups, forms, surveys, quizzes and four prize games), plus A/B testing and AI generation, from $15/mo. What it does not do is send email, remove its badge, or offer a permanent free tier — and the comparisons say so.
